Let's begin with a tour of our classroom. You will be spending a lot of time here over the
next few months studying for your RV Service Technician Certification test, and you need to know how
this site works to get the most from this course.
English is not the first language for everyone
taking this course. The certification test is given in English so you must be able to speak and read
English to become certified. If your language skills are not strong, it may help you to listen to the
instructional text while reading along on the web page. You will see a small speaker ___icon at the beginning of the instructional text. Click on the icon and a window will open and an audio
file will begin playing. You will be able to pause and repeat any portion of the instruction that you would
like to hear again.
Course Folder
To the left is your personal course folder. This folder contains all of the lessons, quizzes and review
tests for the complete program. Underneath the course folder you will see additional folders, one for each chapter
in the program. There is a plus sign next to each of the chapter folders. Click on the plus sign and that folder will
open up to reveal each individual lesson, quiz and end of section test.
You will also notice that the chapter
folders and lesson folders will be grayed out when you begin the first lesson. This will help you keep to track of your
progress. As you complete each lesson and section the folder will be colored in. You will always know exactly
where you have left off when you sit down to continue your lessons.
Course of Study
You must study the lessons in the order that they are presented in the
course folder. You will not be able to jump ahead. However, once you have completed a section you can return at anytime to review.
Personal Calendar
The Calendar/Progress tab
will take you to your personal calendar which will show you the schedule for your Certification Preparation Course.
This schedule is a suggestion based on an average course of study. You can complete the work as your schedule allows.
However, if you fall behind schedule your instructor or mentor will check with you to be sure that you are not having
trouble with the course work or loosing site of your goals. It is up to you how much time to study and how
quickly you want to progress through the curriculum.
Under this tab you will also find your scores for the
end of section quizzes and practice test scores. These scores are private and only visible to you, your instructor and
your mentor. There is no need to discuss your scores with anyone unless you want to.
When you have received a
passing grade on all of the section quizzes you will be able to take the practice certification test. You can take this
test as many times and as often as you like. The questions on the practice test are randomly selected from all of the
possible questions that you may encounter on the actual test. Each time you take the test it will be different and it
will never be exactly the same as the actual test.
If you take the practice test more than once, the program
will consider your previous scores and create a practice test that has a greater number of questions about the subjects
on which you are having the most trouble. This will give you more practice on subjects where your knowledge most needs to
improve. Taking multiple practice tests will help insure your success on the actual Certification Test.
Bulletin Board
The Bulletin Board tab will take you to a location where you can ask
about anything in the Certification Course and get quick and reliable answers. The bulletin board is available to all
students taking the course as well as any student who has completed the course. The archive in the bulletin board is an
excellent resource and will always be available to you.
In addition to student and past students, RVIA Instructors
and Mentors will also monitor the bulletin board. All students are encouraged to enter into the conversations and provide
answers to questions they know. The instructors and mentors will provide authoritative responses and assure that the
information presented is factual and accurate.
Rules of common courtesy will apply and the bulletin board administrators will remove access rights for anyone who is abusive.
Let's Begin
This is a demonstration of the Certification Training Course, it is
not a complete and functioning program. The link below will take you to the Propane section where you can see how
the training program will function.
